Hello fellow quilters…
It feels to me like the last few months have been spent in some strange vacuum, where the urge to get back to normal was taken over by a sense of calm and no real idea what normal is. But here we are getting things up and rolling again. Kids are back at school and a lot of people have gone back to work. While others will be slower to get back to mingling, and that’s ok, The Guild is planning events for the future with much more certainty than any time in the last few months. In the first half of the year we cancelled some events and rescheduled others. In the second half of the year our June meeting has been postponed, and a rescheduled date of the 18th of July is looking promising, all things going well! Friendship Day has been postponed with alternatives being considered. Our Island Quilts team are busy practicing Zoom meetings and have planning well under way. We are sure our annual exhibition will go on as planned but, given the circumstances of this year where anything is possible, be confident in the knowledge there is more than one ‘Plan B’ in place.
