Viewer’s Choice is a special award that is voted on by visitors to the Island Quilts exhibition. If you have visited Island Quilts in the past, each visitor to the exhibition is given a slip of paper to vote for their favourite quilt. After the exhibition, these votes are tallied and a Viewer’s Choice prize winner is announced after the close of the exhibition.
In our online exhibition, we did not want to forget to let viewers vote for their favourite quilt!
Voting closed at 11 pm on 15 November 2021, and the winner was announced at our meeting on the 4th of December.
Viewer’s Choice Winner
We are pleased to announce that the winner of Island Quilts 2021’s Viewer’s Choice was one of our primary student textile artists, Nikoletta Exarhakos, for her entry Piggy in the Middle. Her artist’s statement:
I made this quilt for me. It represents equality. It doesn’t matter how big, what colour or shape you are we are all equal. Teachers at Fran Fab helped with design and technique. Width 100 cm x Height 100 cm
