About Island Quilts

You are here: Home / Island Quilts / About Island Quilts

Island Quilts is the annual showcase of the wonderful work of the Tasmanian Quilting Guild and its members. At the heart of this exhibition is the quilts that guild members submit. Our categories embrace everyone, from beginning and amateur quilters through to more advanced and professional quilters. The quilts range from designs that are traditional  through to modern and from size from miniature to large. Quilting and piecing techniques may be by hand, by domestic machine, or done on a longarm quilting machine. Obviously, Island Quilts is for everyone!

Island Quilts 2022 Date and Venue Announcement!

We are pleased that our exhibition partner, Craft Alive, has announced the dates and venue for Island Quilts at Craft Alive for 2022!  We’re looking forward to our next exhibition being 7 – 9 October 2022 in the fantastic MAC02 (18 Hunter Street, Hobart). We’re so excited to be working with Craft Alive again to bring you an in person quilt show and also so excited about this beautiful venue.

Other news, announcements, and resources for IQ2022 will be available at the Island 2022 page; keep visiting to find out the most recent news!

Island Quilts 2021: A Colour Explosion

After our COVID hiatus in 2020, restrictions meant a physical exhibition was not possible in 2021. However the show DID go on, and we held our first online exhibition. It was a roaring success, and although we certainly hope to have further exhibitions in person the feedback we received from guild members as well as viewers from all over the world is that an online exhibition is appreciated.
