- If you have any difficulty completing the entry form please contact Pip Scholten president@tasquiltguild.com.au
- Entries open 18 June 2022.
- Entries close 14 August 2022.
- You will be emailed after the close of entries with your quilt’s category number.
Preparing Quilts for Display
- Please sew a label with your name and the title of your quilted item onto the back. Cover the label with a piece of plain cloth that you put your category number (see below) on for judging. This should be safety-pinned along the top edge so that the details can be checked but not seen.
- Each item must be delivered in its own cloth bag. (A pillow case style bag is suitable; plastic bags will not be accepted.)
- Stitch a cloth label to the bag with the quilt title and your name, contact details and category number (see below). Please print clearly.
- Further information can be found at Preparing Your Quilt for Exhibition.
Categories
- Each item will be allocated to a category relevant to your age. When you are advised that your item has been accepted you will be told the category number. This number helps us track your quilt.
Delivery and Return of Entries
- Quilts can be delivered to collection depots around the state. You can nominate which depot you are most likely to leave your quilt when doing your online entry.
- There will be a sign in/sign out form at the collection depot. Please sign this form when you leave your quilt and again when you collect it.
- Please double-check all details before delivering your entries to the depot. The hostess at the depot may not be able to help with any questions.
- Please deliver your item to your depot between Wednesday 14 September and Friday 16 September 2022.
- Quilts will be available from the depot after the exhibition finishes (the same one you delivered your quilt to) between Monday 12 – Wednesday 14 November 2022. Please collect your quilt as soon as possible.
- If you have any questions please contact Pip Scholten by email at president@tasquiltguild.com.au
Photography
- All quilts will be photographed for the TQG online exhibition, the TQG website, the TQG newsletter, and for inclusion on a USB stick for distribution to magazines and public sale. These will be for sale at the Exhibition if you would like to buy one.
Judging and Awards
- Prizes and certificates will be awarded at the judging panel’s discretion, and the judges’ decisions are final.
- The judges consider the techniques used and the skills demonstrated in relation to the age of the entrant when making their decisions.
- The student awards will be announced and prizes presented at the ‘Evening with the Judges’ on Thursday 6 October 2022. Students will be notified beforehand if they have won a prize. All are welcome to attend. We award the Student Textiles Competition winners first in case any students attending wish to get home early.
