Narelle Grieve arranged the first meeting of all the quilting Guilds in Australia in 1992. This led to the formation of the Australian Council of Quilters. Representatives from each State guild meet annually for a two day conference to discuss common issues such as valuation, judging, sponsorship, awards, exhibition categories and professional and amateur status. These conferences are held in a different State each year with the host State organizing the event.
2016 is Tasmania’s chance to shine as we hosted at the Airport Travelodge in February 2016
The conference was very successful and all our visitors from interstate were very impressed with the Tasmanian Program and accommodation. Congratulations must go to Alison Howlett, Margaret Treloar, & Chris Coulbeck-McMurray, for their hard work organising the conference. It was a very hard working weekend with lots achieved, and a lot of new friends made. Well done girls
